Flowable fill is a modern marvel of the concrete world that has come a long way from where it began. Originally made up of water and fly ash for the longest while we now have a more refined mix that works leagues better. Currently it is comprised of fine aggregate, cement, fly ash, and water. The original problem was that it would degrade over time or washout if there were any cracks/seams. That has been helped through the years with the addition of cement.
