Mother nature has always had a way to disrupt everyday living in one way or another. It's also very hard to take defensive measures for your own safety when a tornado crops up out of nowhere. However, here at Concrete Materials Company we are proud to say that we have a solution for you!
We have two variants of storm shelters:
The storm shelter known as the Tornado Tube is made out of 4000 PSI concrete and reinforced with 1/2" rebar to withstand a tornado. Coming in at 80in tall, 142in long, 64in wide, and weighing in at an impressive 18,000LBS, it's sure to be not be bothered by the wind. This design is buried 40in in the ground. It is a two piece design that is built, sealed, and secured on site. This one comes as a Certified or Non-Certified Shelter.
The Storm Shelter known as the Safe Room is a square design made with 4000 PSI concrete and reinforced with 3/8in and 5/8in rebar throughout. The shelter weighs in at 10,000LBS and can be placed in a hillside, alongside the home, or in another costum built location. This unit is delivered as a one-piece unit and is designed to take a beating. Note: This unit is NOT designed to withstand tornados.
Some common details about these designs are fresh air vents designed to exchange air and not to fill the interior up with water during heavy rain. The Non-Certified Tornado Tube and Safe Room share the same metal door design, where the Certified Tornado Tube has the Certified Door. And of course, they are both built with your safety in mind.
With one of these shelters located in a prime spot on your property for ease of access and a timely recovery, you can rest assured to be safe inside. With two options available for design and one that comes Certified and Non-Certified, we can fit your needs for your budget or peace of mind.
